Raw benchers should get some benefit from boards, but I think the rep range will be different. For example, if I were to train my current 370 raw to 400, I would throw on 425 - 450 and work in the 5-6 rep range off three boards. Once that amount of reps was consistent, I would just remove boards, maybe even putting on a 1x, instead of 2x. Since the weights involved are significantly less than with a shirt, I think you would need more reps to get like stimulation. Reps(2 or 3) seem to be more effective in training raw, than with gear.
