Need Help Identifying Bench Shirt! *PIC*

Need Help Identifying Bench Shirt!

I have a denim bench press shirt that was given to me approximately eight years ago. The person who gave me the shirt – Vince Soto – is no longer alive, so I cannot ask him directly, of course.

The shirt, after 20 plus meets, is getting worn out. I easily get 50-70 pounds out of the shirt as a 148.75-pound class competitor. Unfortunately, the shirt doesn’t have any markings or tags to help identify who made it and I want to replace it with the same style shirt.

The shirt is unique, in that, it is a single ply denim, however, it has on the inside a layer of canvas stitched into the chest plate and into the inside part of the sleeves. The canvas is green in color and stitched vertically and heavily all the way across the chest plate, but it is not a grid-stitched pattern with horizontal stitching, such as Inzer offers.

It is a partial open back with three Velcro strips. The neck appears to be reinforced and where the top part of the shirt – in the back – is stitched closed (to make it a partial open back) it also has a canvas under-ply layer.

Finally, the sides of the shirt are open about six inches up from the bottom, which form an upside-down “V” on each side, but are also reinforced from the inside with a green, canvas patch for strength.

I used this shirt in 2002 to win the 148-pound class WNPF National bench press meet. I recently benched 365 in this shirt at 148, off of two boards in training and drug free, but the seams are just about worn out and I am afraid it finally may let loose.

If ANYONE knows who may have designed and/or made this shirt please respond to this post or email me!

Ps. My training partners have suggested trying a double RAGE X with a grid stitch pattern, but I have never had much success with polyester shirts. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
