Forgot the shoulder question...

I never had great shoulder strength until I went to college and began doing clean high pulls, hang cleans, power cleans, hang snatch, and a variety of over the head presses such as push press, jerk press and the push jerk. As a beginner I recommend clean high pulls (like a hang clean but you never get under the bar) and hang cleans. Trust me, your shoulders will be much stronger.
