We have made several changes to our policy here at GOHEAVY. Here they are:
NO FLAMES - Let's keep it clean. There is no need to insult someone for their opinion.
NO PERSONAL ATTACKS - Again, play nice or don't play at all.
NO ADS - Our readers do not appreciate ads in forum messages. If you want to reach lifters in this forum you can get advertising space at the top of the page.
I never said that anyone gets a 500lb carryover from their gear in the squat. Here is some math that does sound more realistic though. Squatting very wide will probably add 20% to Your close stance deep squat. Squating very high will probably add 25% to Your deep wide stance box squat, and what does a $400 dollar double canvas velcro strap squat suit add to that subtotal? How many I.P.A. 900LB squaters have ever deadlifted 750lbs? How many of them could do a deep raw front squat with 600lbs? How many "Pro" Division lifters in the W.P.O. that squat 1200lbs could squat 800lbs off of a 10 inch box with a close stance for a million dollars? The "garbage" that gets passed in the W.P.O. is a disgrace to our great sport, and its hard working athletes everywhere! The I.P.F. has a responsibility to add a "Pro" division by 2009, and its first U.S.A. Nationals should be held at that years Arnold Classic. Only common sense will ever move this sport forward to main stream respectability! Mike.
