Shoulder Injury Part time off? PT 2

(I'm kinda long-winded so I understand if you don't respond)If you don't remember, I was the guy who said he had a shoudler injury and wanted to know, if I had to take a lot of time off, how long would it take to get back to how I was before I got injured. Well, I went to the doctor's office (about 2 weeks ago), they gave me an x-ray and said they couldn't find anything. I got the sense that they felt it was really strange that it only hurted when I benched, and not in daily mundane things, the only explanation he gave is that it could have resulted from me increasing my 10rpmx from 165 to 185, so he wrote me a prescription for some anti-inflamatorys (which I think is a BS way of saying aspirin, it's motrin for christ's sake!)and cleared me to lift, just to stop if I had anymore pain. Well sure enough, I went downstairs and got on the bench and tried my 5-rep max which is 205,it hurt but it wasn't nearly as bad as it was when I first injured it, so it wasn't enough to warrant stopping (this was the first time I actually tried my 5rpmx, other times I just relied on the online calculators to tell me what my 5 rpmx was, because I don't have a spotter). Seeing that it hardly hurt that time, I shrugged the pain off, and went down two days after that, this time during the up part on the 5th rep I got stuck. No prob, whenever this happens I just shift the weight to one side and let it fall, cuz I'm skinny enough to slide under the bar when it's down. I tried to do so this time, and it felt like my shoulder gave out (most of the time I try to control the weight,to a point,as it's going down so it won't hit the floor so hard, but not this time) which then resulted in the worst pain I've had to date. Like I said this was about 2 weeks ago, since then I've filled the prescription for the "anti-inflamatorys", and have iced and iced my shoulder to point of numbness. My mobiltity for the first handfull of days after that was limited, I even put my arm in a sling for a day because it hurt so much to raise it. But,now I pretty much have full motion with little to no pain. Does anyone have any advice/diagnosises for me, since the doc couldn't come up with one (although,I've got an MRI scheduled for the 10th). It's really tempting to go give it another try, but I don't want to be messed up for life.
