what type of training program

I've been training for about 7 yrs. and have built a solid, muscular body. Measurements are 5'8 1/2, 183 pounds. About average body fat and I'm 25 years old. I'm an ecto-mesomorph also. The question is which way should I train without overtraining. I read in a book that a bodybuilder shouldn't train for any more than 4 times a week and no longer than 60 min. Is this true? The book I read also prior to that book is called "Bodybuilding" The Weider Approach and it has all types of traing routines that say would take 1 1/2 hrs. to complete but to me it seems like it would take about 2 hrs. Plus they say wrkt using the same routine Mon., Wed., and Fri. Now to me this seems like an awful lot because it has about 20 different exercises in the regimen. I used to just train one muscle group per week and I seemed to bulk up well. Any input is very well appreciated. Thanks.
