They are easier on your elbows---the angle of your hands places less stress on your elbows. I have an ez bar and have used it but I tend to just stay with a regular barbell and will occasionally do hammer curls with dumbbells, too. It is good to mix things up a bit so it might be a good addition to your set up. They can also be used to do tri extensions/skull crushers and even lighter, close-grip benches for a different hand angle.
