Okay, I have been on creatine and NOS for almost 10 days now. Tonight I was kind of seeing what felt heavy and light and I managed to get 3 easy reps in the squat with a weight I did one hard rep with saturday. I hadn't tried to bench with a bar for a couple of months, real sore shoulder. Had been doing DB benches working up to 100's for a set of 7. Managed to get 5 reps in the bench with a weight I expected to get 2-3 with. Supplements seeming to work. No weight gain yet. ALSO...I was thinking...I usually do some type of deadlift work EVERY workout. Only once a week from the floor, a lot of times, lockouts from various heights in the rack, hand spacings, and foot spacings. My lower back seems to stay fresh because even off the floor I seldomly do more than 3-4 sets or 12-15 total reps. For squats I either do 3x3 with a 1MR or 5-7x1 with a 1MR. My philosophy is, work the lift, not the muscle. Only add an assistance exercise when I need it(have a weak link in the lift). This was a Jerry Jones principle. Mel Hennassy used to bench sometimes 5 times a week but the sets were kept way done, some days 1-2 work sets. The old guys knew something we seem to forget. We need to work hard enough but to undertrain.
