Meet results

Well my first meet I did really well for myself. This meet was very different.
I went into it with the same open (290 bench) as last meet. On my first attempt I was near lockout when the spotters (never spotted someone before this meet) grabed the weight so my lift so was good. (judge yelled at them for grabing the weight)
2nd attempt was the same wieght and this time the head judge said the pause was not long enough. The 3rd attempt was the same as the 2nd and still no good. So I bombed out!
The thing that gets me is, last meet (which had two of the same judges as this meet), gave me all white lights. I was really pissed off and took video of all my attempts and some other people. The same pause that I did was given the white/green light by the judges for other people that were doing 400+ AND "LIFTING THEIR ASS UP ABOUT 6 INCHES." I don't understand! The head judge was very cocky and almost knocked the bar over on one lifter while trying to help/spot. It was/is not his job to spot the lifters. Especially when that attempt was not even 150 lbs. (this judge seemed to be "feeding" the other judges on what to give the lift. The older judge seemed to be angry that he was even there and looked like he might even fall asleep.)
The one thing I really learned from this experience is that your first attempt should always be a weight that you can pause for a long time. Last meet my max was 300 next meet I will open with 260. I also am very pissed off about this meet and can't wait to get back to my workouts. I was entered in the iron man and was not able to do the DL.
The people who ran this event, bruce swanson and david corrsi were really nice guys and did a really good job at keeping things as organized as possible. Bruce sure can put up some big numbers and david was judging towards the end of the event and did a much better job than the head judge. I can't wait to attend next time they have this event and hope to see some of the people who post on this site there.
Am I pleased with my lifting/results? No.
Did I learn something? Yes
I don't want any of the judges to think I am bad mouthing them behind there back, so I will post my name and e-mail if they do not like any of my comments. I would have spoken with them at the meet, but they were still judging/sleeping when I was leaving.
