First conventional DL day

Wow, talk about ROUGH. Haven't done conventional ever, sick as a dog, and after a super lazy Christmas it was tough. I like it though. Much better than sumo I think, and I'll probably stay with conventional for a while. It just feels really solid. Sumo is a bit of a balancing act, especially with a really wide stance.
I model my pull after Andy Bolton's; fairly wide stance, shins vertical from the start, shrugging the weight back and pushing chest out after the bar clears the knees so the bar rides the thighs to lockout, keeping the weight as close to centre of mass as possible.
Also did good mornings for the first time ever. 135 for 2 sets of 8. Those things kicked my ass... and back... and basiclaly everything else in my prosterior chain. Definately a keeper.
Oddly enough my grip is stronger now than ever. I did a 5 second bar hold with a weight I couldn't even pick up before the break.
So, that's my first experience with conventional DL. I am really can't wait to see how this cycle turns out.
