Haven't seen many posts of late from you. I thought you were away on business for Bayer. I wish the young man all the best and will be thinking of him and will be in my prayers. My older friend who is a mechanic just had the same problem, having pain during swallowing. It took two weeks to find out he tore some muscle away from the esophogus by coughing so much when he had his spring allergy attacks. Ernie said it was painful and he also broke a rib as well by coughing. Hope all goes well my friend. Your hick friend, Hillbilly.
