Sorry. I would need to research the year that Mr. Samuels coached the Maccabiah games. It was mentioned in S&H, along with the lifting results (to the best of my recollection) & I was told about it by Mr. Samuels many years ago. I shouldn't have stated that year without researching it. The correct year would have been prior to 1969.

Samuels coached both at the YMCA and NOAC and spoke of it quite a bit. The Times Picayune photo on 1/13/08 states "coach Bob Samuels" in identifying him in the photo.

If anyone would like a copy of the newspaper photo, please email me at lighric2@aol.com and include your address & I'll send a copy of the photo.

There have been a few newspaper articles on Mr. Samuels that I've saved over the years, and I'll try to accumulate them and post something later in the summer.
