There are many issues that I haven't found explicitly stated in the IWF rules. For example I've heard that for record attempts all the plates must be of the same certified brand, i.e. you can't mix 25kg Uesakas with 20 kg Eleikos. Also missing from the rules is a list of the current, approved brands. Is a twenty-year old York bar okay still certified? If the toes hang out over the edge of an elevated platform, is that considered "leaving the platform"? Or does the lifter have to touch the floor off the platform? The rules say you can't touch the head with the bar during the snatch but what about the jerk? If you wack yourself in the chin with the bar during the clean, is that considered a head touch? I know it's not allowed, but where in the rules does it say that you can't have advertisements on the singlet?
