Check out RB Rubber Products. They sell a 2 foot by 2 foot by a inch and a half thick product called ballistic tiles. Many platforms in Division 1 weight rooms are made out of this product. Also consider building Your platform in 3 sections. The first section would be the middle and could be between 6 to 12 feet long, and 40 to 48 inches wide. The next two sections will be the ballistic tile sides, and they will be 6 to 12 feet long and 24 to 48 inches wide. You hold the platform together by building a wood frame around it. You can also build bumper plate racks out of wood, and attach them to the wood frame of Your platform. I have seen some pretty elaborate and integrated platforms built this way, and they cost less to build 4 platforms than one Powerlift Platform does. Mike. P.S. I have also seen guys Rhino coat Their platform frames, and their bumper plate racks. It really looked good!
