Hi Jesse, I don't like it when lifters throw the bar down after the lift, I have seen much worse then your lifter, but there really isn't a rule that you can't unless they consider that as not being under control. I could be wrong but you very seldom see this at the international level, although you see them release the bar a little high most of the time, but I see it many times at every meet local or national that I see here in the US. I don't let my lifters drop the weight in training unless they are missing or it's above 85% mostly since it takes me a year to save for a new bar but they still have to have it under control and release it at their waist. I have seen many lifts pass on the international level that I would red light but I am very strict when I judge just ask my own lifters.
