FHSAA update

One of the athlete's that I train, Johnny Mondello competed this past Saturday in Daytona at the state of Florida State highschool weightlifting championships. He was disappointed with not winning the heavyweight class. He did get the bronze. What I am amazed at is that Johnny does not perform the bench press in training. This meet was important as it is his last year in highschool so we did the bench press for seven weeks. With that little training he did a 420 pound bench with a pause at the chest. His best c&j recently is at 368 pounds & he needed a 380 c&j to pull off the win. We opened with 350 to secure the bronze & points for Ridgeview highschool & he took two shots at the 380 & almost got under the weight on his first try. He totaled 770 with the winning total at 795.
