I wonder sometimes why we can't or don't pay our National team members BIG money, in whatever sport they are competing. I think off the top of my head about the "DREAM TEAMS" that have been sent to the Olympics and World Championships. Those are PAID professionals, why couldn't we through government and corporate cash pay our "poor" athletes at least a decent wage due to someone who is representing their country. I don't think it would have to be a huge amount, unfortunately I think this is the largest area of difference between our athletes and "theirs". Their athletes are well known national heroes and ours unfortunately are unknowns, unless they were already pro or become a pro wrestler.
So many people talk about paying college football/basketball ect. players "something" I believe paying our National teams should be thought of way before that becomes a reality.
