Chevy Aveo = G.M. car with a Daewoo engine!
Ford Festiva = Ford car with a Kia engine.
Pontiac Vibe = Pontiac station wagon with a Toyota engine.
Geo Metro = G.M. car with a Suzuki engine.

** A couple of years back, Malcolm Bricklin cut a deal with Chery (Chinese car manufacturer) to import, market, & sell Chery economy subcompact hatchbacks here in the U.S. ..Now, if they can get a real-world 40-50 mpg ~ Detroit will be FORCED to give us at least the same mpg. BUT they, [U.S.-based automotive mfrs.] NEED to be HURT, FINANCIALLY to give them sufficient incentive to make us economy cars.
... EPA Ratings are invariably MORE than real-world mpg statistics! Consumer Reports rates the ZAP Smart Car (2-seater) at only 32 mpg overall. They rate the 2008 Toyota Prius at 44 mpg overall! ..and it's a HYBRID! ..It could get over 150 if they vaporized the gasoline!
