Butch - I understand computer problems. A friend said that I need more memory; that is why my computer is slow. So, I am going to add memory instead of buy a new computer.
I think the perks and the prestige of being on the USOC BOD is entirely different than being on USAW's BOD. I am sure you would agree with that. Heck, I could see you and me both willing to serve in that capacity. Now, would I serve on the BOD of snowboarding or team handball? No, no real interest.
I will take you at your word that you had such a list at one time. I would hope that maybe some who seemed to be "outsiders" may have some connection to the sport OR TO SOME OF THE PEOPLE IN THE SPORT. I could see outsider interest maybe for track or more well known sports where you might be interacting with or decing questions pertaining to Jackie Joyner Kersee or Carl Lewis, or where there is big money.
There is no question that serving on the BOD of USOC would look good on a resume. Even USAW might look good, but not enough to justify the time and trouble.
I think even you would agree that it is not likely to happen in the near future, anyway.
I think I asked before- what were the rules on 12 and under when you were on the BOD? Who else was on the BOD and who was hired/fired or not retained during that time?
Thanks. - Marty
