BUT HOW'S YOUR ANKLE FLEXIBILITY?? CAN YOU SIT DOWN IN THE BOTTOM WITH THE KNEES FORWARD OF THE TOES?? SOMETIMES IT IS HARD TO KEEP A STICK IN PROPER POSITION JUST BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WEIGH ANYTHING!! USE A LIGHT BAR AND SEE WHERE YOU STAND. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE THAT COULDN'T DO A OVERHEAD SQUAT IF THEY WORKED ON IT AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE A MAJOR SHOULDER INJURY AT ONE TIME. DON'T DWELL ON I CAN'T, BECAUSE YOU CAN!!!
I DO A LOT OF ONE ARM HANGS WITH BEGINNERS WITH POOR FLEXIBILITY AND ROTATE THE BODY EACH DIRECTION TO HELP STRETCH THE ENTIRE SHOULDER AREA. DON'T STRETCH LIKE THIS WITH YOUR ENTIRE BODY WEIGHT. MAKE SURE WHEN YOU STRETCH YOU ARE KEEPING THE FEET ON THE FLOOR WITH THE KNEES BENT AND THE ARM AND SHOULDER THAT YOU ARE STRETCHING IS LONG, THEN ROTATE THE BODY. YOU ARE ONLY STRETCHING WITH ABOUT 20% OF YOU BODY WEIGHT ON THE JOINT. I LIKE THIS STRETCH MY SELF BECAUSE IT JUST MAKES ME FEEL BETTER.. IT IS A GREAT STRETCH AFTER TRAINING BECAUSE IT HITS THE ENTIRE UPPER BODY AND IT ONLY TAKES ABOUT 2 MINUTES TOTAL TO DO BOTH SIDES. FILL THE LUNGS WITH AIR AND STRETCH FROM THE ABDOMIN ALL THE WAY UP THROUGH THE ARMS. GREAT FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT BECAUSE I LIKE TO DO THINGS THAT MAKE ME FEEL BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF ITS ANKLE FLEXIBILTY THAT IS KEEPING YOU FROM GETTING INTO PROPER POSITION THEN YOU HAVE DIFFERENT PROBLEM. TRY THE THINGS THAT THE FOLKS HERE HAVE POINTED OUT AND I WISH YOU SUCCESS!!
