Butch - Maybe, like the dog that didn't bark, your answr says a lot. If you never think you made a vote you would change in your years on the BOD, you are better than anyone I have known in politics, WL, school boards, etc. Things change, you vote based on what you have and what you know, but no one (except you, I guess) bats 1000.
I cannot easily access your old statements. If we were to elect non-WL people, they would surely have to have something to offer... expertise & acumen in other areas, as opposed to a friend of a friend or people off of the street. I ask again why those people would want to and be willing to serve? Just list me 6-8 that you would choose and why.
You are more familiar with other sports. Maybe some do more through committees, coaching, etc. In our case, the BOD basically runs the sport, along with the ED and staff. How would a non_WL person feel on the 12 and under? the 30 day rule? I would rather take my chances with Dennis. WE know where he stands.
IF other NGB's have power similar to our BOD,I would be curious as who they get for their BOD and how. I know some people in some other sports. Maybe you can give me 3-5 sports where:
1. - The majority or entirety of the BOD are people not involved in the sport.
2. Their BOD acts roughly in the same kind of capcity as ours.
Out of the 3-5 you list (hopefully more than 5), I will see if I know anybody in their sports I can contact. Do their BOD go to national meets and know people at the grassroots level? -
