When I was a fershman in college my vertical jump was 26 inches at 248 lbs. When I learned the pulling movements and started deep squatting 4 years later in the off season i weighed 283 and my vertical was 32 inches. I could dunk a basketball with 2 hands no problem and won many bets, including $50 from my brother on Christmas morning out on a snowy basketball court.
When we atarted Olympic lifting with the athletes at East Carolina in 1981 we had 18 knee injuries at different extremes. The following season we had 7 and the third season we had ZERO KNEE INJURIES!! WHAT DID WE DO DIFFERENT AT ECU??? WE OLYMPIC LIFTED!
The teams average vertical jump went up 5+ inches, body weights went up and injuries went away!!!!!!!!! Within the next 3 years ECU had 14 get NFL tryouts!!!
DAMN WHY DO ANYTHING ELSE!!!!!!!!! LIKE I SAID IN A POST DOWN BELOW "I'M NOT THAT SMART, BUT I HAVE HORSE SENSE".
There are always those coaches out there that will try these bullshit gimmics! Sport is ground based, so train on your feet!!
