the really good russian lifters did plyometrics and other athletics, alexeev was suppsoed to be capable of a 6 foot ihgh jump, i am assuming he did it the old scissors style, not a belly roll or a flop, although he might suprize us smaller athletes with his explosivness. The old strength and health showed lifters like cameron nd grippaldi doing jumps over sitcks across charis, with paltes in their hands! Of course tere re nistances like shot putter John brenner who injured ihmself doing plyometrics, it ended his career, but soemtiesm its not always the excercise you get hrut on that is the culprit, sometimes the tear may be due to other factors, or incorrect training. There have been reports of large athltees dunking basketballs, i think Henry could dunk, and even Reinholdt could touch the rim at 300 plus pounds. If you view the 1976 olympics lcips of alexeev cleaning and jerking 562, you iwl notice basically a pwer clean, and in slo mo his feet actualyl come off of the ground. definately an explosive back and hips, Alexeev was known for his ocnditioning though.
