yes Scott , I remember seeing the 1970 Worlds on TV , and at that time did not know much about lifting , vividly remember Gary Deal and Bednarski , and of course the supers , so Im sure Reding made an impression in my subconcious. The the supers at the 71 worlds were also on WWS ,,, but to me the best was the CBS Sports Spectular , they showed in depth coverage of many classes of the 72 NAtionals (battle with Knipp & Lowe stands out in my mind with Patera's 501 jerk), the 73 Nationals (Fred Lowe saves the ratings) and the best 1973 Friendship Cup from Taskent USSR .... Rigert setting records back in the 198lb class , Ivanchenko on hand and a HUGE SERGE REDING ... the greatest of the early 70s all on TV for free for all to see.
like Archie and Edith used to say "those were the days"....
