the width of the grip you are forced to use could be a definite factor in the overhead instability
pete stetsiuk recommended doing pullovers to help this and i agree
i would use a stability ball and just a couple of small plates...even 2 1/2 pounds (or less) can do the trick...lay on your back...upper back and do the stretch position of straight arm pullovers and flyes and work the angles in between the two...roll the ball a little changing the position under your back...the aim is to increase the flexibility of your thoracic spine along with that of the shoulder girdle...i find this works quite well and recommend it over the more commonly used "dislocate" exercise which i find can be traumatic...work slow, get a nice stretch...play around with it in various positions....doing a similar move with the arm bent can help establish a nice elbows up position in your front squat and clean also...stretch all these positions...not very much weight at all is needed...this should help you establish a slightly narrower snatch grip which i believe will help your stability problem...if you don't have a ball, laying across a bench can also work for you, but i like the ball as it is more easily adjustable in the midst of the stretch...just do partial reps in the stretch position...a kind of light pnf stretch
