Train them (even without a bar at first, if you prefer) to breath in with their diaphrams (pushing their bellies out, like a nonintensive Samchin) as they drop into the squat. Also, make sure they keep the bar close to their bodies and elbows over the bar on the pull (I visualize my arms as the pincers of a feeding crab-over and down)so they can confidently whip their elbows forward and up while securing the bar solidly on the clavicles.
