We all know that we train for power between 50 and 70% of Max. But I still think that we should train well above the 110% 1RM to shock the system and to continue to get stronger so we can move heavier weights down the road. I think that once ever 2 weeks or so you should do pulls up to 150%. I am not talking about doing this in a competitive phase of training for weightlifters, but for football players in the off season, hell yes. Doing this once every 2 weeks is a good thing in my opinion. Now granted there are probably several people on this forum that that think that i am intense about training, but we need to continue to get stronger all the time. I BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE TO PUT ADDITIONAL STRESS ON THE SYSTEM SO IT WILL ADAPT TO GREATER STRESSES DOWN THE ROAD!!!!
THAT'S THE WAY I FEEL, GET EM FIRED UP WITH BIG WEIGHTS ONCE EVERY 2 WEEKS!
