I have used the reverse hyper for years. We had some Hungarian lifters in our gym. They were familiar with them and called them "donkey kicks." Start light and do them regularly. High reps(10-20) at first. It is a rehab exercise. Poundage is unimportant. As such, you can do them often without affcting your lifts. Do them before squats to put blood in the lower spine. Do them after squats to decompress the spine. Powerlifters use a lot of weight in them because they swing the weight up. I resisted this until I tried it at the suggestion of a Plifting friend. It is a valid way to pump blood into your lower back if you are in a non-hurting mode. As always, take it slow and proceed with caution. Good Luck!
