...1971-74. (We where a D2 school at the time but did manage to win the Big Sky Conference 3 times in a row and a Camellia Bowl) I have stayed in touch with them as I teach at a local high school. In fact December 8,9,10 I instructed a Sports Performance Course for them in their 'new' weightroom. 12 platforms, all Eleiko equipment (200kg per platform.) Their Head Strength Coach, Tim Socha,(Minnesota 1999) is in his first year with BSU but was the Strength Coach at Louisville before taking this position. One of his assistants, Jared Aurich, took the SPC course from me two years ago and new assistant, Jeff Jones, was in the group I was instructing this time (This young man is very good). Most of the participants where on the track and field staff.
A great staff with solid teaching skills. Very approachable, very dedicated and the 'nice' thing was they are not 'numbers' people. (you know how many 'guys' can snatch this, clean that, bench a car and squat a freezer.) They pay attention to technique, have very well thought out programs and really have connected with the athletes. It is always good to see your Alma Mater continue to improve and it is great to see them 'dot their i's and cross their t's' by going out and getting a quality Strength and Conditioning Staff.
GO Broncos!!!
