Acid Reflux

Has anyone out there had any experience with acid reflux or related issues? My theory is the breath holding / valsalva while lifting has caused some of my problems. I am taking a couple of meds and have modified my diet with absolutley no result. My doc is talking surgery. Any thoughts or ideas?
