Sorry for you loss.

I appreciate your post. I had a loss too and I felt that people would not be able to understand, it seems that they do.

We lost our cat of 12 years a few years back (and I'm still not over it). Our situation was a bit different. She was a full grown stray before we took her in. She was not even a nice cat, but that was one of the things we loved about her.

She came to us soon after Paul and I were first married and starting a new life together. She had always been part of our little family. Needless to say, we were devistated when she became ill.

I remember having all our things packed the night before we were to leave to compete in the American Open in 2002, but she was just too ill for us to leave her there by herself. So we stayed home to be with her. She past away soon after.

Sounds like you gave you friend all the best...
