My understanding wqas the same as Jason's, i.e., that it was dropping the bar which got him the reds. I am not sure on that, though.
There seems little doubt that the bar was dropped too high. Maybe the refs were undecided about pressout. The drop from well above waist high gives them another erason to red-light it if they were in doubt.
IT is a shame to see such an effort go to waste. Other drops may be borderline, but one cannot fault the refs for calling an obvious drop in this case. I think refs may not call dropping unless they are close to 100% sure. I think this was clear enough that they felt they had no choice.
NOt sure why lifters take a chance on dropping the bar when they have made a lift. Not a good habit to get into, as some refs will call it on ones closer than this one. - Marty
