I lifted in Germany for 2-1/2 years and there were numerous local lifting clubs throughout the country. I trained at the Athletik Sport Vereing, Linkstrasse, Griesheim (known as ASV1800). Griesheim is a suburb of Frankfurt. This was during the 1960's but I know they are still in existance. I will do some investigation and try to get you a list of training centers.
Gewichtheben is the word for weightlifting so you can do some Google searching yourself.
