Speaking of Dragomir... all I have heard since the Trials says that the origin of the 3rd slot started with him, supposedly being told directly by Ajan (by either phone or email). He swears by it. Ajan denies it (and denied it to Casey's mom, Lesley, within the last couple of weeks).

One of them is not telling the truth. Maybe both of them are not telling the truth. I think that resignation from the IWF by Dragomir would be in order, would be the honorable thing to do and the right protest to make.
