Jasha, after the '07 worlds, when it appeared we would have three slots, Casey played a huge role in placing the US high enough for the three slots. I think that a lesser placing by anyone there would have moved us down enough to lose the three slots, so every total was critical, but Casey earned more points than anyone else. A moot point because after the drug testing disqualifications, we were obviously bumped down to zero slots so nobody had a role in getting any slots because there were no slots.

So, it came down to the PanAms were we easily did well enough to earn the two slots. As it played out, we could have had any one lifter bomb and still get those two slots. I am not sure, but maybe we could have even had two bombouts, depending on which two, and still had two slots.

A real mess, one that should have been avoided. What was done to Casey is wrong on many levels.
