In order to be good at bench pressing one should practise it for years in a specialised way. Anderson never did that to nay degree. I`m very surprised to see that he had large hands. How can Tommi Kono then claim to have witnessed Anderson deadlifting 1000 lbs with hooks, perhaps Anderson had large yet not really efficient hands. Hard to figure out. Only explanation I can come up with is that Anderson might have had immensely thick hands which often kills the grip around the barbell.
