Hi Don Cundy III

I am going out of town for a few days but I'll be back in touch upon my return. I'll be glad to share some stories of your Dad with you. I am sure there are others monitoring this board that also can share some of your dad's superb powerlifting history with you.

Your dad was truly a legend in powerlifting and was the "man to beat" in the superheavies for several years. I learned the meaning of training intensity by being around him.

When you dad first came to live in Hawaii, he lived in a boarding house (that also provided meals) with several other guys. I can't recall the specific details, but for some reason he got mad at the rest of the residents. As I recall, he went to supper early (for one or more nights)and ate all of the meat so there wasn't any left for the other guys. I think they became vegetarians by default. I guess there is more than one way to get even and that method worked well for a superheavyweight.

By the way, I wouldn't have had the nerve to call your dad anything but "Don" or "sir". No nicknames because I knew how strong he really was.

Terry
