There area alot of people switching to the hook grip, not only safer on the biceps, but also for even loading of the errectors/spine. Maxim Podnty has the biggest hook grip daedlift of 909, then goggins, then Gillinham i believe. There has been more and more people switching over to this grip in recent years, I started to make my switch in 2000 but with my old style of a jerky deadlift, i damaged a nerve in my thumb. Now I have been working my way back into it and should have my max deadlifts going soon, im pulling just over 600 with it now, just gotta get adjusted to the pain, more pulls. The only thing that sucks is you reay cannot pull for more than 3 reps with it.
