Don,
Go to Classic Bodybuilders of thr Golden Era and check out Hilligens arms remembering that he is 5-4 or so and 173 or so.Now on the same site go to Casey Viator who i think was about 220 at around 5-10 or so and while your there check out Sergio Oliva at 5-10 and about 230.Caseys arms were measuered accuratly at 19 5/16 i think it was and Sergios at 20 1/8.Compare those arms with Hilligens.I will rest my case. Most of the bbers even today exagerate their measurements and also their strength. They do it because they know the other guy is doing it.I mean 22 inch arms and a 28 waist with 30inch thighs on the same body with 700 sq for 12 reps or so.I mean really anyone that believes that stuff is seriously going to have issues with their brain power. Why is it that you never see a tape around them in the mags with the excetion of a few.Take superheavyweight lifters like Kaz etc and compare the measurements and lifts with some of these guys in Flex and you will see how stupid the whole thing has got.A lot of tall guys do the same thing. The guys 6-2 are becoming 6-4 ,the guys 6-10 are becoming 7 and so on.Thats the one thing about powerlifting, the weight on the bar cant lie and you either lift it or you dont.Another thing a lot of the lifts that the bbers are doing are done on machines that most people get instantly stronger on.
