In the fall of 1972 i didn't realize how good the lifting situation was at Arizona State University till i walked in the weight room and met Jon Cole, the strength coach. He had a ton of good lifters around him in those days, Jack Barnes, Brick Darrow, Marv Allen, Bruce Willhellm (spelling?)...and much more.
It was mind blowing some of the lifts i saw that year at ASU, with Cole doing all 6-lifts. Cole was a natural expert in doing anything in the way of lifting, after a few months i immediately felt successful in getting stronger in helping me become a better athlete.
