Talk to Louie Simmons or Dick Zenzen before you have it done. They had the Hemi-cap done (replacement of the humeral head). I'm looking at it as my next step (I have no cartilege left). After my last surgery the Doc told me that would be my next step when I couldn't stand the pain to bench anymore. Louie and Dick have made comebacks. Be sure what your Doc is talking about is the same one. I read a lot about the Hemi-cap and viewed some video on it. There are some significant design differences with it compared to previous prosthetic surfaces. Louie knows a lot about it and was actually interviewed on the vid I saw. Learn all you can, not just what your doc's telling you. Good luck. As of last year I think only a couple of Docs were experienced with the Hemi-cap. My Ortho said he'd have to send me to one of them when I was ready. Good luck.
