Who is adding or subtracting 10% to or from a mans total? You did when you said that if you add 10% on to 2000 it equals 2200, geared or not you said that is a huge increase. As far as the lifters themselfs claioming all time records, well it is more the magazines than the lifters that does that. For example how many times have you seen the cover of powerlifting usa Garry Franks all time world record total, 2600, 2700, 2800, and then on the same cover they had in smaller pictures the big lifts at the usapl sr. nationals? What powerlifting has came to is like boxing and the mma, like who would whip whos ass Mike Tyson or Royce Gracie. Well the only way to find that out is to put the two in the ring and let them see who can whip who. Like in powerlifting if I was a active world class lifter, in the ipf and I wanted to prove that these lifters was getting bad lifts passed and that is why there totals is so high, the bad judging and multi layer gear. Then just for the sake of proving my point, then I would show up at one of these meets and lift by their own rules add another 200 to 300 pounds to my total, maybe set a all time world record, after all it cant be that hard with all the gear mono lifts and bad judging. Because action speaks a hell of a lot louder than words. Big Jeff lewis Proved that he is a top lifter etheir way, I mean everybody has the same chances to lift both ways. With todays advanced gear single double or triple, the only lifters that has a right to complain is the raw lifters. But most of us I know me for sure has far to big of egos to compete raw. Nobody takes words or reason serious, they are just opinions, but performance, and action are facts. I have a great amount of respect for all the top usapl ipf lifters, just like I do the apf ipa lifters. It is just a shame that their is so much controversy and jealousy, the only way to prove yourself anymore is to compete both ways.
