But on the other hand it is wrong as hell to subtract 10% off a mans bench or total just because he dosnt lift in a drug tested fed.Who is doing that? The only people that did that kind of thing was the Bench America.
Just like a lot of the multi layer guys shouldnt compare their lifts to you top ipf lifters.Calling a lift an "all-time" record implies a comparison. When someone puts up any kind of record, that lift should be an example of how to do the lift by the book or damn close. It doesn't have to be pretty, but you should be able to take a quick look at that lift and tell that it was good or not. There are an awful lot of high squats, unlocked benches, etc being passed.
A lot of ipf lifters act like all records should be done under ipf rules, single ply gear, super strict judging, and of course a drug test, regaurdless of the federation the lift was done in.There are some that think that. I think most people are just tired of seeing bad lifts being passed off as good.
If I wanted to go for a all time record and I was lifting in the upa, ipa, or apf, then im sure as hell not going to care what the ipf, or any other federations rule book has to say im going to go by the feds rule book that im competing in. All the lifters that I named in the other post, performed their lifts, to the rules in their federation. That is all that counts....and if the judges were paying attention, a whole lot of those should have been turned down.
