Nobody is knocking todays best lifters, you are right there is a bigger pool of talent today than ever before. But still there is not one single lifter in any fed or any weight class that is as dominate as Coan was, even Volgerpol has competition, and all the other top lifters are not dominate like he was. Look at the top 100 list and find a gap of 300 pounds from first to second in any weight class. Coan was always at least 300 pounds over the number 2 total for a dozen years, and that was competing in single layer loose gear, and under uspf and ipf rules! I do agree though there is a lot of amazing talent out there today.
