In Response To: Anyone had dogs with ACL tear? (Jamie Emberley)

Hey,Jamie,I have a 2 1/2 year old bullmastiff. He started having problems with his knee when he was about 3 months old.We had him to the vet on several occasions, and no one could figure out the problem. He had numerous x-rays,some were even sent to a radiologist in Saskatoon, who was supposed to be the best in the country. She couldn't figure it out either. Some vets mentioned the ACL and TPLO surgery, but no one could say for sure what it was.He was in alot of pain which was killing me,so we opted for exploratory surgery and they found a loose tendon.Tightened the tendon and he has been great ever since. He has a decent size scar on his knee but is very active and agile(as agile as a 130lb dog can be).It cost about a thousand bucks, but with exploratory surgery the cost all depends on what they find.Hope everything works out well for him.
