In Response To: Atten AAU Lifters (martin drake)

Several people called or e-mailed me. Thanks
Let me clarify, that none of the medical procedures were real serious, just a number of pain in the --- little procedures. Glenda and I are both very healthy. I am walking around at about 170 and feel great. She is 123 and WOW !!!!!
In between procedures, we have been playing. I really owed Glenda the time.
Here are some thoughts to ponder.
The average lifter competes 2 years. Some return, some don't. But even those who hand around for many, many years take large (1-10 years off) breaks from competing.
The average meet director runs 1-3 meets total.
People like Steve and Judy Woods (AAU) run 1-3/year for 10+ years. I have run 2-4/year for 13 years. And yes a few even run many/year for decades.
Just remember that we meet directors have the same life events as the lifters and are expected to always be there. It is always easier to be there with help from friends.
Then there are Referees like Gordon Santee. He is at 27 meets /week , or atleast it seems like that many.
See everyone in Vista.
