It is not there anymore, Joe. I am positive you are referring to a place just as you get off of the ferry at port aransas. Real estate values have gone out of sight in that area, as in all coastal cities, but there still is some uniqueness to Port A. Also, the building of the navy base in Ingleside changed a lot of the area.

Not far from there they have a cruise ship that takes gamblers out to sea for several hours of gambling and entertainment. There was a bar in that area and it well might be the one you mentioned that was owned by barry andrews who parlayed ownership of that little bar into the miller beer distributorships in corpus, dallas and denver and i dont know what else. One of the bouncers he used was my friend Paul Barbee, Jr. There was a fight one night in the bar and barry foolishly thought he would help break it up. Paul accidently knocked out two of barry's front teeth as he reared back to cold cock a biker that was causing trouble.
