However, I think we need to remember that in most cases sponsorship of anything, whether it is powerlifting or Nascar or whatever, is a business decision designed to put the company in a better position in the target market.

How many Verizon logos will you see in the Nextel Cup series?

Similarly, IF Titan decided to hold the Titan Invitational and offered 10000 to the winner but all the lifters were to wear titan gear for that meet, hey it's Titan's meet and you can could accept the invite or not. Nothing to stop Inzer or Crain or Metal from doing their own thing.

Wouldn't work in a regular sanctioned meet where different types of gear are approved but I could see it in specialized events.
