Let me clairify,

I once a year or so ago heard (hear say) of a situation where a gear company was sponsoring a meet. I don't know if it was via money or just gear that was donated for the benefit of the meet. But what I did heard was another vendor wasn't allowed to sell gear at the same venue. If this if true (and I don't know for a fact it was true), I just think that is bullshit. How can this sport ever unite if this type of shit is really going on. The Raw lifters will agree that gear is ruining this sport but I believe this type of business is the real downfall. I hope it isn't happening but I have to believe it is but nobody has the nuts to say it.
