Mike Boyle made an interesting case for the Monolift when I interviewed him:

"I think this is a great safety move as it eliminates the unilateral loading of the spine and SI joints with massive loads in the walk out. Unilateral loading with the kind of weights guys squat today can’t be good for you."

When the Monolift was initially promoted, was increased safety mentioned as a point of appeal? There remains an awesome mastery in a huge squat that's walked out, set up, taken to depth, and brought up.
